In my video collection I have Clear and Present Danger in VHS format. Receintly my wife purchased the DVD copy of this great Harrison Ford film. I desided to back up the copy as I do with all of my films and used DVDFab verson 3.1.5.0 to back up the movie only and found that the read rate was 2,75 and then slowed down to below 1.0 also showing about 3 hours to read the disc. When I saw this I knew I had a problem but let the program do it's job. Finally the backup was completed and I burned it in DVDShrink at 4X a Maxell Gold disc. I then played it back on two different DVD players and both had very bad pixalization and lock up's in the begining of the feature. I told my wife to return the disc as it may be defective, but before I get a replacement I'd like to know if anyone else had the same problem and what may be causing the error.
thanks

I have found that the commerically produced DVD disc is defective. I played that disc on two different players and in both instances the feature locked up and froze. So my problem with the backup was not the program's fault but rather the disc. So that disc will go by to the store. What ticks me off is that this is a NEW disc, never played before, taken right out of the box, No marks on the disc and it's defective. Whatever happened to quality control ?? I learned a lesson here....play the disc first and if it plays OK then make the backup .
