View Full Version : Strange permissions error in AutoGK

I have made many successful AVI's with Auto Gordian Knot.

However, bringing in dvd's made with Nero and decrypting to get the files exposed is giving a permissions error which says:

"You do not have permission to open this (IFO)file. See the owner of the file or the administrator."

The operating system is Windows 2000 pro on a small home network.

I inspected the files and found them read only and unchecked the read only attribute which gave the error:

"Files are read only access denied to change attributes."

This may be an operating system error but I don't know how to fix it.

Is there a setting in Auto GK or the OS to open permissions of the ISO file?

The goal is to repack the dvd to a smaller size avi using AutoGK.

Hi!However, bringing in dvd's made with Nero and decrypting to get the files exposed is giving a permissions errorplease clarify:

1) Why/How did you create an encrypted/copy protected DVD using NERO?

2) Why don't you just re-rip the original, commercial DVD?

I don't believe that a permissions error is the same as an error one would get when re-encoding a copy protected DVD.

loninappleton, are you by chance not setting a new directory for the output that is not on the DVD disk?

This might be close to the problem.

The dvd made with NeroVision (not Nero, sorry) was an avi from a download.

I just redid the decrypt process, started AGK and the default completion box that shows the name from the dvd is blank.

The homemade dvd did not (perhaps) have a name given by me when running Nero Vision. The content is there , but with no name Decrypter sees it as 'DVD'(D:)

The goal here is simply to resize some avi files I have. While I know that AGK uses Virtual Dub I have never been able to use it
properly with guides or no guides.

Do you have any suggestion on resizing as well? this would eliminate a time consuming step.

Ok. I'll work it out.
