Updating DGMPGDec to newer version

Anyone know whether there is a way to update DGMPGDec to a more recent version while continuing to use d2v files indexed using an earlier version? I have a large number of indexed mpgs (about 160Gb worth) that I use repeatedly in video editing projects (Premiere). I originally indexed them using v1.2.1. I'd like to upgrade now for new projects, but when I tried installing v.1.4.9 and then tried to open one of my existing Premiere projects that uses those old d2v files, I got a mismatch error message ("DGIndex/DGDecode mismatch. You are picking up a version of DGDecode, possibly from your plugins directory, that does not match the version of DGIndex used to make the D2V file. Search your hard disk for all copies of DGDecode.dll and delete or rename all of them except for the one that has the same version number as the DGIndex.exe that was used to make the D2V file."). I had to re-install v.1.2.1 in order to be able to open the projects.

I know I could re-index all 160G of mpg files using a newer version, but besides taking a long time, wouldn't that mean my existing projects that use those files wouldn't work right anymore? Does this mean that as long as I want to be able to access those projects I have to keep using v.1.2.1? Or is there a way - maybe by changing the headings in the d2v files or something?

If anyone has thoughts/suggestions, or if there's something I'm missing, I'd love to hear it!

The changes from 1.2.1 to 1.4.9 are too extensive to contemplate editing the D2V file. Sorry, but you have to remake your project.

I was afraid of that... Okay - if I reindex my files, then open my old projects in Premiere (using avisynth plug-in) with the new d2vs, will they still work right? In other words, will the new version index the my existing mpg files the same way v.1.2.1 did, so that my in and out frames will remain the same, etc?

If your cuts were done in Premiere, it will be fine. If you did any cutting in DGIndex, that will be lost, because you can't load the old D2V project in the new version.
