To convert to AC3 5.1

If I want to have a 5.1 AC 3 file and my source is stereo Wav, do I first have to convert the Wav to a Surround Wav with for ex. DBPoweramp and from that file to a AC3 5.1?

I was thinking.....but.....

I make DTS CD's with Ploque.....

That means that the 6 mono wav files which I make I also can bring in in the Sonic Audio Transcoder....and make AC5.1!?
