How to combine different program chains...

Hello I'm having some trouble while trying to rip the film Alien 3.

The DVD has the original and extended version of the film. The original version it's dubbed to spanish, but unfortunately it's not the same for the extended version.

With SmartRipper tells me that the DVD has 2 Program Chains, one for the original and another for the extended version.

What I want to do is combine those program chains in some way so that I can have the dubbed audio on the sequences that were kept the same as the original in the extended version and the original audio in those sequences that appear only in the extended version.

Is there any way I can do such a thing?

You can use DVD Decrypter with IFO I mode to extract required stream.

I've tried with IFO mode in DVDDecrypter but the problem remains the same, The first program chain has the original movie 1h 50' and the second program chain 2h 18' and I don't know which chapters have the different sequences. Sometimes the difference is about 1min extra time in some scene so I don't think it will actually take a whole chapter.

I don't know if this explains better my problem, but thanks anyway.

I'm sorry i forgot to tell that.

My output would be xvid .avi file.

I've been doing some testing but without results i don't know if it's even possible to do...

I can only tell you that it's not something that I'd try to tackle.

Perhaps other posters can provide you with some meaningful guidance...

If you decrypt the longer Special Edition using DVD Decrypter set up in IFO Mode, and get the Spanish Audio along with it, then the added scenes will already have the English language in them. Decrypting the right angle should give it to you exactly the same way as it plays in the DVD. Maybe I don't understand the problem, but this seems kind of trivial to me.

And why anyone over the age of about ten would want to watch a movie in any language other than the original is beyond me.

I'm kinda busy now but I'll try with that angle and IFO thing when i have some spare time.

Why to do this mess up with the original you say? Because my relatives don't speak english and I am still learning so it would be much easier for them watching it in our language and having those extra parts in subtitled english.
