Of all the programs out there which is the easiest to learn how to make DTS upmixes...I have been using audition 2.0 with the VI plug ins( which totally rock)..are there better programs out there..If so which ones give the best results and are easy to learn..
Thanks in advance

You could also try using V.I in a freeware app called Wavosaur, or as explained in the guide for use with Foobar2000 as updated by tebasuna51. These are about as easy as it gets. However, if you practice a bit with Audition, I think you'll find it's quite easy as well.

You could also experiment with reverb plugins for the surround (be subtle. A little goes a long way). The center extraction effect in Audition can be interesting, but to be honest, I find all these spectral-based effects to still produce "warbling" artifacts that ruin the sound.

I tried that effect and I am goingto stay away from it...I just got Wave lab and I think I am goingto try that out...I think it uses your whole suite plug in?

It's just a guess, but what about using ac3filter, avisynth's directshow source, and virtualdubmod? You set ac3filter to mix it up to 5.1 (1.01a RC5 is the best for that imo), write an avisynth script that opens the source through directshow (so ac3filter is used), open the .avs in virtualdubmod, and export the stream. Then convert the multichannel wave with whatever you like.
Could that be done?
