I used to use DVD43 but understand that it is not updated?? I am not sure of that, so I am wondering if Any DVD is my only alternative?
Comments appreciated, thx.

Hi!

The (freeware) "RipIt4Me" package continues to be eminently capable of ripping (with a VERY minor exception) virtually all commercial DVDs...

Others speak highly of (freeware) DVDFab Decrypter.

Ripitforme, what is this? I have always used 1 click dvd copy and dvd43 and then a friend told me that this would no longer work.
I have a collection of dvd baby boomer concerts and always use the backups when we have a barbecue and company over and have always used 1 click simply for the ease of use and speed.
Quality is acceptable to us.
I don't know anything about dvdfab???

I have used dvd shrink in the past, but only when it was really necessary due to the size of the disc.

I appreciate your comments, thx.

And is it correct that dvd 43 is no longer a viable consideration???

I know that there is one particular company that keeps coming out with discouragements for backups, however when I spend the money on one disc I don't even like it when people handle the original cases.

I look forward to comments, again thx.

dvd43 is no longer updated, anydvd (slyfox) and freedvd (from dvdidle) are your only options unless you can find ripit4me or get dvdfabhddecrypter (dvdidle)

@philco

Hi!dvd43 is no longer updated, anydvd (slyfox) and freedvd (from dvdidle) are your only options unless you can find ripit4me or get dvdfabhddecrypter (dvdidle)Actually, an another EXCELLENT (commercial) program is DVD95Copy, an easy-to-use all-in-one (ripper, compressor, burner) program...

I do like 1 click dvd copy, but am frustrated b/c I guess I can't use it?

you might find it hard to find ri4m you can always get a program like setrip_old suggested (dvd95copy) which you will have to pay for just like anydvd (slyfox) since you want to be able to use your old program you might think of getting anydvd from slyfox or try freedvd from dvdidle

Since I have the purchase version of 1 Click DVD and used dvd43, which is no longer updated.
Can I use the "Free DVD - DVD Idle" and does it get updated or its it like dvd43 obsolete??

And second query is the DVD95 user friendly?

And Ripit4 me does it need anydvd or Free DVD -DVD Idle?

The reason that I liked 1 Click is simply that there is not a lot of work involved and the quality was good enough for myself and the family and it indeed works very quickly, which in a pinch is what I want.
Thankyou for your time.

DVD Idle isn't updated any more and the last time it was updated was in 2006.

RipIt4Me does not need AnyDVD. It does however need DVD Decrypter and FixVTS depending on which version you get.

You can download the latest version of RipIt4Me here (http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/1101299/RipIt4Me.zip) before it was taken down. If someone has the last version with FixVTS PM me please. FixVTS can be downloaded here (http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/1618973/FixVTS.zip) if you are interested.
