Hello
I just want to share my experience with multiangle DVDs like
Star Wars. I tried many tools and some of them were able to
extract the angle correctly. If I played the movie with MPC or
any other player, the movie was correct as long as the IFO files
were availble. If I played the VOBs directly, the other angle was
still present!
Why is this a problem? If you want to reencode the movie to
another format e.g. H.264, you'll have the first and second angle
just one after the other. And this for each "part". Therefore the
movie was not playable at all and also the sound was out of
sync.
After trying many tools I eventually found ONE that works:
- Use AnyDVD to deactivate any copy protection.
- Use DVDShrink to rip the DVD (and only the ANGLE that is needed).
Just set the compression to 100%, then nothing is reencoded. Only the angle will be removed.
- Use a tool to reencode the VOBs to the format needed.
So only DVDShrink was working!
For me it's a working solution! Maybe that helps others not to
spend so much time on this...
