Are there any FREEWARE programs that convert mp3/wav/ac3/other to MIDI format?
Actually, I have no idea how MIDIS are produced.
Could someone please brief me about this? Thanks~~

the best freeware would be to carefully listen to the song and write down the notation for each single instrument.
MIDI is roughly the same as sheet music - only in a computer-readable format.
Converting wav, mp3 and other formats to MIDI is the same as
converting bmp, jpg etc into a written description of the image - best to be done manually because no software can do this

Sunhillow: Sorry, but I don't get you.
I never created a MIDI before. What do you mean by creating it manually? How? in Notepad? I don't get it.
How do I actually create a .midi file? how to do it manually? >.>;;; I don't get it at all. Could you please explain a little bit?
What do I do with a .mp3 file I want to create a .midi file from? How do I output to .midi?

It's like you have to re-create the song in a pentagram (very difficult to do) with all instruments, notes, duration, etc. SEPARATED. The only way is that you re-create the song.
Search for the song at MIDI, if it's popular maybe exist.
It's "like" to try the have the separated tracks of the "mixing" (studio) from the final "mixed" CD that you bought, there's no way to do that, because of the overlaping frecuencies of the instruments and other things.
