Gabest demuxers / general technical question

What is the technical reason for the fact that there's a Gabest MPA Splitter in addition to the Gabest MPEG Splitter? The question is not so much about Gabest demuxers, but about my understanding of MPEG2 and muxing. Thanks! :)

MPA handles raw, unmuxed elementary streams, which is all mp2 and mp3 are. MPEG handles the three forms of mpeg containers, on the other hand.
