Hey guys am converting a recent DVD to XviD. DVD transfer is good, noise is minimal, colors are perfect...

My question is on usage of LimitedSharpenFaster with Soothe.

Option 1: Just LimitedSharpenFaster with strength say 140
Option 2: A combo of LimitedSharpenFaster with strength 210 & Soothe with appropriate 'keep' level.

The avs script preview in both these cases looks similar in terms of sharpness & noise.

So my question is, will there be any additional benefit using Option 2? (steadiness, lesser artifacts etc?)

Thanks

strength of 140 is just way too much for a DVD to XviD transfer. You can check it out with VDM @>150% zoom.

IMO, not if you use smode=4 and ss_x=ss_y=1.5.

Try it? Try them both? then compare I would guess.

Haha, I was gonna say the same thing earlier. LSF's awesome, but can't compare to seesaw (if used properly that is).
