Hi everybody,

I have been trying to search all the threads of this forum hoping I could get an easy step-to-step information to convert recent downloaded DIVX files into DVD but i got frustrated to discover that there are too many softwares and the 3 different ones I tried all delivered a miserable result in terms of quality and enormous time needed for conversion..

How can it be possible that a compressed file DIVX whith a good resolution ends up in a poor DVD file quality?..

Finally, my aim and quest is quite simple. How can I convert a Divx file (.avi) in a readable file for my home DVD-player? Is there any good and easy solution (likewise DVD Shrink for other purpose) instead of complicated encode, decode, undub, dedub program etc... that does not seem to give any good result?

I know the forum rule prohibit any promotion of any "wonder" software but is there any page on the web where peolple made some tests with all the available programs and ranked them? It will help a lot and save even more time.

To go-around my convertion problem, I had to buy a RGB cable for my PC and plug it into my plasma screen :-S

Thanks for any further help

You might also search the forum rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm), particularly #6.

??.. I would be very grateful if you could explain to me where I missed the forum rule.

I my previous question is related to a simple quest. My Smartphone produce Divx movies and I just want to watch them and edit them on my home screen.

You used the word "downloaded"... Which contravenes the following announcement in the "Newbies" section of the forum: -

Why bother? there are several standalone dvd players that include divx playback, and they are cheap. several from Philips, even at that electronics warehouse Walmart. Look for the DivX logo on the box.

@micas35

Hi!

Load your DivX-compressed .AVI into GSpot (so we can determine/see the various video and audio information) and post a screen capture back here...
