ISO files and PowerDVD 5.0

Recently, I had a MAJOR melt down and had to restore my system, WinXP,
Multimedia version with the on board restore files. Now, I can't watch
ISO
files using Power DVD. I wrote to Cyber Link, Power DVD, concerning
this
issue and they say Power DVD has never been able to play ISO files. I
know
for a fact that Power DVD is the only software that I used. Was it possible
that
I had loaded a file that allowed Power DVD to be able to play ISO
files?

In the course of learning how to copy DVD's, I might have copied a file
that
allowed Power DVD to render ISO's but what?

Sounds likely that, previously, you were using Daemon Tools, or similar, to mount .ISOs to a virtual drive...

I still have Daemon Tools installed and PowerDVD will not play ISO's, To use the tools, you have to mount the virtual drive, on my previuos set-up, I only had to double click a ISO file, PowerDVD would come up and play the ISO in the PowerDVD window, much less hassel.

I only had to double click a ISO fileThis means that you had previously "associated" .ISO image files with PowerDVD. Try "associating" .ISO image files with PowerDVD again...

I re-associated PowerDVD with the ISO extension and mounted the virtual drive with DAMEON tools. This method is too cludgy. Since I am trying to build a clean method of launching these ISO files as a media system, I've decided to use the VLC media player to watch my ISO files, for now. It works and I can't find any issues at this time.

What region DVD's are you having problems with?

I'm really not having isssues with the files, just a media player. I use to use Power DVD but after a system failure, I had to re-install my software, but lost the ability to use Power DVD to play my ISO files.
I use: Ripit4me, DVDdecripter, and DVDShrink. I also have PGCEdit and DAMEON Tools installed.
Some where, I had installed some thing that "allowed" PowerDVD 5.0 to play this files,,, through no intent of my own.

It sounds like you had Daemon tools setup to mount .iso's on a double click, autoplay on, and autoplay on DVDs set to launch PowerDVD. Since I don't use Daemon tools I am not sure how to set it up like that but you should be able to replicate those settings.
