Does anyone know how to spin down certain (i.e. not all, but selectively) hard drives in Windows XP? The power management options through the OS only allows all drives to be spun down after an allotted period of time.

On my system, each drive goes to sleep individually when it is considered idle, always has done.

Hi
mitsubishi is right ,
By selecting shut drives down after say ten min , only D or whatever it is named will shut down. Windows will automaticaly detect which and when a drive is idle.
C:drive is almost always spinning . So you are actually spinning down a certain drive/drives :)

Yes, you two are right. I should have tried this out sooner, but in any case thanks for the tips!
