DVD to PS3 video files HELP!!

I have spent weeks trying to get ripped dvd files to play properly on my PS3 in MPEG format, The VIDEO content plays great but the AUDIO doesnt play and its only on certain ripped files...............I am trying to rip a dvd file that has an audio file as in the box below.

Its the MONO 1 channel audio that appears to be the problem as all 2 channel/6 channel audio tracks are fine. As i have said all other ripped dvd files play well. im am in the UK (PAL land) if this helps but R1 dvd files play just fine too, its just this MONO 1 Channel thats the problem.....Can you guys help me out.......... :thanks:

It's rather unusual for a DVD (even one of an old movie) to have only a monaural track.

What is the Title and Region of your original DVD?

The Dukes of hazzard series box sets, i rip the car stunts to watch on my PS3..............if it helps heres the full cap of the details.....your help is much appreciated

The Dukes of hazzard series box setsNone of those DVDs have monaural audiotracks - and your screen capture indicates a tiny (16MB) .MPG file.

1) How did you create this file?

2) Why don't you simply re-rip your original DVD - and retain the original audio format?

The screencap i have shown is a ripped segment ( a car jump) from one of the shows ie not the whole disc, and i rip the segment using the DVD SHRINK Reauthor mode start and finish points , and the original R1 NTSC dvd box i have in front have me says DOLBY DIGITAL ENGLISH MONO............

My apologies for confusion regarding the audio format. Your reference to "boxed sets" (original TV series) just didn't register with me (It's an age thing ;>}) You are, of course, correct - as noted at Amazon.com regarding season #1: "Available Audio Tracks: English (Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono)".

That said, let me ask, if you play the ripped snippet with a software DVD player, or Windows Media Player, or similar, does it play with sound?

All the files play with no problem inc sound on my usual media player of WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER.....................thanks for sticking with me as this one has got me beat :confused:

It sounds like you'll have to demultiplex the file and use an appropriate tool to convert the audio to at least 2 channel .AC3 - and then remultiplex...

PROGRESS but only a little, heres what i have done, used my TMPGne express to demulitplex the mpeg video file, then i used FFMPGgui03 to alter the demultiplexed audio track, to what i think is AC3 2 channel. then i multiplexed the two back together.............................and the AUDIO now plays on the PS3 but at twice the speed :mad: so the audio finishes half way through the video................anyone any suggestions

What did you do/use to finally correct the audio playback speed?

i ripped the audio as a WAV or MP3 from the original dvd rip, using dvd audio extractor, then FFmpeg'd it, works a treat mate, cheers!!!!
