View Full Version : Problem with decrypting PS2 game

Hi,

I'm new to DVD ripping and hope you can help me.
After reading a bit, I downloded "DVD Decrypter" and "Alcohol 120%".
I tried using both applications to rip a PS2 game (DVD media) with no success.

Last week I used DVD Decrypter and managed to rip a different PS2 game (I simply used "mode" -> "ISO" -> "Read", then "mode" -> "ISO" -> "Write", created the ISO file, then used ImgBurn to burn it to a DVD and it worked with my PS2 player!).

Today I tried using this method with another game but both the DVD Decrypter and Alcohol 120% run into problems and could not finish the decoding (attached are the log files of both applications). Both ran into sectors that could not be resolved after successfully decrypting 98%.

What additional steps can I do to rip this DVD successfully?

Many Thanks,
Novice2007.

Hi!

You may find more success regarding backing up game DVDs at a game-specific forum...

The ps2 emulator pcsx2 has a built in ps2 iso ripper. I'd try that as it's purpose built and has always worked for me. Does the disk have any damage?
