I am trying to convert a xvid file to DVD format(Pal)
using avidemux

I didn't find any discreet setting for making pal video in it.

so I encoded a file with mpeg2-720x576 res

but when I go to nero>make DVD video it tells that the file content is ntsc and needs to recode to pal.

help me in making a PAL video in avidemux which nero will detect as pal.

What is the Title and Region (and format - NTSC or PAL) of the (presumably) original DVD that you used to create the XviD?

It may be easier, and certainly would yield better results, to make a backup of the original DVD...

Also, please load the XviD into GSpot and post a screen capture back here.

@dhawald3:
One of the best ways to convert to PAL is using Canopus Procoder, of course there are many solutions like CCE or TMPGEnc.
Do not expect to have good quality, already to convert XviD to DVD plus NTSC to PAL the result is not going to be good.
But if video quality is not your point, do some search and you will find how to convert NTSC to PAL (better with Avisynth frameserving).
Greetings! :)
