Hi everyone,
My name is Etienne, I am the creator/maintainer of ambisonia.com. I thought I would drop an email here on Doom9 to let people know that there are hundreds of really cool ambisonic (surround sound) recordings/compositions available to download and listen to on ambisonia.com as DTS Surround files.
I've just completed a huge round of ambisonic to DTS translations (I translated every ambisonic file published on ambisonia)... and I was hopping that some people _outside_ of the ambisonics community might download some of these DTS Surround files and give some feedback.
All the files are wrapped in a DTS wrapper and can be played back like any DTS file, but the contents therein are actually still in the ambisonic format. This is a kind of *trial* to see if it is possible to deliver ambisonic sounds easily on standard consumer home theatre formats.
So far the feedback has been very encouraging. ... so if you are into surround sound, please do download a few files and let me know your impressions.
Etienne
