View Full Version : Maintain MPEG2 Aspect Ratio when converting to DV avi

I recently received a DVD Camcorder for a present and would like to do some editing. I tried using VDubMod to convert the .VOB files to DV AVI using the Panaonic DV codec. However after a straight conversion using no resizing or anything, the resultant video is a different aspect ratio (4:3 or thereabouts). What resizing/cropping do I need to apply to maintain the original aspect ratio whilst still achieving decent quality?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

hi, sorry to break into your thread, but im also having littlebit of difficulty converting some files to just plain damn original ratio, so far 5/10 files are converted normal ratio as vob files, realy wierd.
is there a original defoult reset or something so it just converts to original ratio. im using latest autogk.
thanks.
