This has only started since yesterday when I had an upgrade done but Dvd Decrypter has problems reading with my PATA drives. The device buffer goes up & down like crazy & the remaining time goes up & down like a YoYo. At first I thought it was a DMA problem but have since checked things like burning with ImgBurn & a read using my SATA drive, which ran like it was supposed to. Any information that is recquired please let me know & any information will be appreciated.

Microsoft Windows XP Pro v2002 SP2, Intel(R)Core(TM)2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80GHz 3.15GHz 4GBs RAM.

SATA: LiteON LH-20A1S 9L08 FB, PATA: Samsung SH-162L TS08, Samsung SH-S182D SB06, LG GSA-H10N JL12.

Is something else accessing other disks in the background?

If you are talking about another program running in the background while Dvd Decrypter is working, then the answer is no. The other program that I use Dvd Decrypter with does not run in the background while Dvd Decrypter is working, anyway I have also tried Dvd Decrypter on it's own in File Mode & ISO Write Mode, the same situation occurs.
