Chroma Bleeding

first off, sorry if this is in the wrong section...

is this chroma bleeding (between frames)?:

if not, what causes this? i recorded it on my ati hdtv wonder. i get a slight ghosting effect like this when a scene cuts from a shot to a new shot. it also happens when an object quickly moves through the frame. i get this effect no matter what i try as well, it happens with force film (from dgi index), with tfm(order=1).tdecimate(), and also with no IVTC.

If it happens with force film, that implies that it is in your source, assuming you are not doing any filtering after mpeg2source(). Can you post a small unprocessed source sample containing such a cut?

Does the ATI HDTV Wonder record the transport stream?

this sample was taken without forced film (honor pulldown flags). the effect is worse this way, but if you want me to post a version with forced film, just let me know.

and concerning the ati hdtv wonder, i am fairly sure that it does just capture the transport stream. it captures to a .mpg file (with the full hd resolution) and takes up very little cpu resources in doing it. everything i have read says that it captures the transport stream natively. the only thing is it comes out as a .mpg not a .ts file.

Force film/no force film has no effect on the demuxed video, so if you see a difference in the demuxed video, it is imaginary.

I am downloading and will reply again when I have looked at it.

The problem is in the source video. I don't know why it is there.
