Reclock doesn't detect video stream

Recently I moved from an aging Athlon XP system to a new one with a Core2Duo and as a consequence I had to reinstall Windows (XP Pro).

Now I find that Reclock (1.6 or 1.7b4) doesn't detect the video stream, but only when playing H264 content from either Matroska or MP4 container (don't have any of it in AVI). Xvid and Divx in MKV, AVI and OGM work fine.

As a decoder I'm using ffdshow (libavcodec). I normally use Media Player Classic (homecinema 1.0.9.0 or vanilla 6.4.9.0), but tried WMP11 also. Tried MPC's internal MKV/MP4 splitters and Haali's media splitter. Tried different output renderers from MPC. Tried several ffdshow versions (betas 1, 2a, 3 and a build from few days ago). I had beta 2a in the old system.

Instead of ffdshow I'd try CoreAVC if I could install it. I have a legit 1.2.0.0 standard version installer on my harddrive, but it won't let me install because a newer version is supposedly out (apparently not for me since I can't find a way to obtain it from the site).

So, anyone else experience this weird and specific problem?

edit: Ok, found the download link for CoreAVC. Didn't solve the problem though.

Sorry to dig up this thread, but I have the same problem than breez.

Reclock doesn't recognize the video stream from my MPEG-2 files. I've tried several MPEG-2 splitters and decoders but no luck.
For SD content it lets me set the framerate but for HD content, it doesn't detect video stream at all !

I'm using Reclock in combination of MPC-HC 1.1.0.0, Haali Media Splitter, Internal MPEG-2 decoder, ffdshow YUY2 in/out + resize and Haali Renderer.
For .avi files and .mkv files I've no stream recognition issue.

The worst thing is that at some point, using HMS and internal MPEG-2 decoder it worked.

Any ideas ?

some of my MKV/AVI files say "no video stream found" in Reclock.

yet they worked perfectly fine last week :devil:

I've tried it all, reinstall HMS, Reclock, etc etc

it seems that Reclock gets the frame rate info through DirectShow-PTS/IMediaSample-Interface ?

how can it STOP working all of a sudden ?

some DLL interfering ? how to know which one then ? :(

a known fix is to reinstall windows, but it's getting odd...

I've disabled that stuff :D

besides everything works fine, it seems that SOMETHING(in the registry?) is messing with IMediaSample-Interface and blocks Reclock from getting the frame rate info ?!

last time I installed windvd9, it completely ruined this interface(reclock didn't get any info on any file), and I had to reinstall XP SP3.

and sometimes it happens on MKV files, you simply need to reinstall HMS and it works fine again(witnessed on many different computers).

and sometimes it doesn't work with HR, but it works with EVR :confused:

so something in the registry messed around with IMediaSample-Interface :(

there must be some way to find out through Graphedit maybe ?

not really, I don't wanna put back my computer to an older state.

I simply would like to know why the hell Reclock can't get the frame rate after a while...........it's got to be related to IMediaSample-Interface and some dirty registry entries or DLL interfering.

I was hoping to find an answer or someone knowledgeable.

this problem happens to all the people using Reclock, it's nothing new.
