I was given an Audiovox D1708 portable DVD player. It plays CDs and plays the audio on DVDs. The screen lights up (white, not blue). The screen is a solid white, no graphics at all. I do not have the remote. I would like any info as to whether the player might have been programmed in some way that only the remote can correct. I contacted Audiovox twice and have yet to have an acknowledgement or an answer. One other interesting thing: Audiovox supplies an owner's manual but it was printed in 2003. My 1708 was made in 2005. Audiovox has chosen to ignore my request for help about this, also. All suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
