How to join 2 DVDs?

I've got a "flipper" movie ("IT" by Stephen King) that I wish to merge to one disc (well, one side anyway). :)
I've used google to check how to perform this and all answers points to a tool called "vobedit" and use a function in that program that's called "Join clips". However it does nothing even if I've tried what all guides are telling me to do.
Merging can be done with dvdshrink (reauthor mode) but the VOB-sets aren't really merged, just played after eachother and that's not what I want.
Hints please? And please keep in mind that I am very much a newbie in working with VOB's. :)

EDIT: Just noticed the sticky thread about this. Seems like alot of work. :( I don't really care about menus and stuff, just the movie with subtitles.. A simpler method perhaps? :)

The easiest way to join a DVD creating one title set is to use DVD2one (http://www.dvd2one.com/). Use the join mode. No menus, but it keeps subtitles. It is a pay program.

If you do not want DVD2one to transcode (make smaller) the DVD, then set the output size larger. For improved quality use DVDShrink to transcode or especially DVD-RB with HC to re-encode.

Freeware solution: Use VobEdit to change the VID number on the flip side.

Or, if you don't mind it being non-seamless, use DVD Shrink in re-author mode. Optionally afterwards, use PgcEdit's DVD Shrink plugin to redo the authoring so you can chapter skip.
