Ive used ConvertXtoDVD to do this but it cant convert it without lowering the resolution. I mean who wants to convert a HD movie to a standard PAL or NTSC.

BTW are there any programs that allow you to keep the original res while also converting to fit to a dvd DL disc ?

You can't put a HD video on a DVD-video. You have to use a resolution that a DVD supports namely 720×576/480 for full sized video.

What is it exactly you want to do? If you have a HDDVD player, then I believe those can accept (limited by bandwidth) HD content on a normal DVD, but a standard DVD player won't.
