I have a Lite-on DVD drive (for about 2 years) and I have never had a problem with it untill now. I tried to play "Training Day" in my DVD drive and it would not load (I tried other discs and they worked fine so I dont think my DVD drive is malfunctioning) The disc played fine in my DVD player though. So I got another copy of "Training Day" and it was the same result.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Any help would be much appreciated:)

Hi!
I can only tell you that I have no such problem with my Region 1 version of "Training Day".
Perhaps the most outlandish scenario I can think to ask of you:
Is the disc an HD-DVD and is your standalone player capable of playing HD-DVDs - while your Lite-On cannot play HD-DVDs?

No it isn't HD-DVD and no i can't play HD-DVD with my lite-on drive.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for me?:(
Can't you get anymore info when the disk is in the drive ?
Can e.g. isobuster make anything of it ? If not... You already replaced the DVD so this makes me believe the problem is in your drive. Can't you try the DVD on a friends computer ?
If you ask me I think it's time for you to get a new DVD-drive.
Goodluck !

You may need to update the firmware on your drive, it could contain a bug. Most DVD drives have updated firmware, usually for burning on to different types of media, but there may be a problem with certain disks types, you never know!
If it was just one disk I'd recommend a Window cleaner (like Windex) and a soft clean cloth. Once the disk is dry it may play...! (the disk may still be slightly damp so leave it for a few minutes after cleaning).
