Currently i'm converting my Anime DVDs to AVI to use on my portable stand alone divx player (its cert is Home threater or something like that if it matters)
The best way to maintain the subtitles at there best format i've found so far is to use Tmpgenc dvd Author 3 doing the following steps
Put dvd in
Use wizard to select the dvd
then i pull the track i want to use with both audio tracks and the subtitle tracks
then i leave it to encode @ 350mb per file.
the files look OK but they don't really look as good as they did on when i used Fairuse how ever the subtitles look much better and don't involve me going though and setting them up manually and doing though the step of using sub2divx
anyone have a better way to do this and still keep decent looking subs?
And if someone says "make them MKV files they get shot as i've yet to see a stand alone MKV player.... or i'd have bought it already"
