I'm new to DVD ripping and I'm using smartripper, so far I had no problems until a got this error msg "list index out of bounds (2)" and the programs doesn't work any more, This does not happens all the time just with some DVD's what does that error mean, and how can I solve it ( I use it to back up my movie collection ). thanks for your help. :helpful:

It means there's a bug in the software, or possibly it's running up against some sort of protection that it can't handle. Have you contacted the author about it?

Consider using ripit4me instead.

Hi!

SmartRipper, while still an excellent ripper for DVDs containing only "standard" CSS copy protection, is very much out of date (Its development was discontinued a couple of years before DVD Decrypter's development was discontinued) - so that it cannot process DVDs containing either "ARccOS" or "RipGuard" copy protection.

For your problematic DVDs, I'd suggest you use the RipIt4Me "package"...
