I know this question has been asked before, but not answered in the detail I'm looking for (at least, not that I could find [after searching for some time on the forums.])
Anyway, for American style cartoons (The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, etc.) I'm wondering what the best settings are. I'm getting decent results, but being the fickle perfectionist I am, always looking to improve the results.
So, I'm using Gordian Knot and I always encode with XviD at a 512x368 resolution for a 175 MB file/episode. I also use a 128 VBR MP3 audio file and gunning for 23.976 FPS.
As for the AVS script, this is where I'm thinking that things could be improved. I usually go with the IVTC filter, but then I'll edit the script before encoding and add the TomComp (did I spell that correctly?) filter into the mix. Like I said before, the results are good, but I wanna hear from the experts if there's any way to go about further editing the AVS file/adding new filters that would make the final results look sharper.
Again, I know lots of questions about "How do I do The Simpsons?!" have been asked, but most of those questions seem to deal with AutoGK, not GK, which I'm using. Thank you for your time.
