hi,im a newbie to dvd shrink,
question is i want to back up some dvds and was wondering, when you reauthor dvds and you want to keep just the main movie for better picture quality because of lower compression,in this mode does it also leave the 5.1 surround sound and 16.9 aspect ratio intact or does it cut out these features, thanks

If you want movie only to save space and possibly not even have to reduce the video quality then click reauthor and drag and drop the main movie only over to the dvd structure section. Then in the compression settings tab uncheck everything you don't want like foreign languages and subtitles. Each thing you remove reduces the need to compress. Personally I only leave the DD5.1 track on the DVD and remove everything else. 80% of the time there is no need to compress.

Just be careful if there are subtitles that need to be on (eg alien/foreign language speak). In this case, you'll need to keep and select the default stream.
