View Full Version : Need help with XviD Encode (Sample vob inc)

Hi,

I have a dvd i want to encode to xvid but it seems
to be a PAL dvd converted to NTSC badly.

dgindex shows it as 4:3 but its 16:9 that weird enough
but when i encode i get all ghosting and what not.

Can anyone help me out on what kind of a script or
some way i can encode this to a good looking xvid.

title is killinaskully season two and the region is showing up
as ntsc but it was got here in ireland so it should be pal

As an experiment, try converting it using MPEG Mediator and a DivX codec - but before converting it, just load it into MPEG Mediator and see what it says about framerate in the File>>Properties...

It's an original PAL source that has been blend-converted to NTSC.
(4 setarip_old: indeed, 720x480 @ 29.97)

For restoring fieldblended NTSC back to PAL, your first try is MRestore 2.0 (http://forum.gleitz.info/showthread.php?t=31622).

hi, can u tell me what sharpening is good for r1 dvd9 xvid encode, like t3 dvd, lsf or seesaw, and what settings do we normally should go for in sharpening when encoding dvd's to xvid?

An iceberg is below waterline with 9/10ths of its mass. Its core is made of fresh water ice.

That's the closest answer to your general question I can think of. Anything more specific is source dependent.
