Hello. I have some anime DVDs released by ADV, but reprint in a DVD box, where the quality of the video and audio is kinda not very good... I noticed blended telecined pattern here too... But anyway, the only real problem here is... the audio is pretty noised, it's like... instead of hearing clear, nice audio, I can hear non-clear audio, characters' voices are "silenced", like, it's like someone put some rag on their mouth, so I can't hear "clearly articulated" voices, sounds and musics. There ARE only a few episodes exceptions, but most of the episodes are with pretty much noised audio, just like there is some kind of barrier between my ears and the television/PC when I watch the episodes. Is there ANY free, non-trial, not big in size (MBs), and great plugin/program that can clear out the voices, sounds and musics? So far, I searched alot, and found no good program -.-;;; I would be so grateful if anyone knows some really great and successful program/plugin/etc. that could help me with this...~

Upload a few short segments so we can hear? It's not totally clear what the issue is - noise, muffle, aggressive DRC, etc. Audacity has a decent, if not great, noise removal, and several other tools that might help.

If you want to post a sample and use mp3, take care to use 320 or preset-insane, and no lowpass. A chop of the original would be better though, using something like DGIndex with Demux Audio.

Goldwave works great! Its semi-free, if you use more than 100 functions per session, it come up with the register screen once every roughtly 3 funtions. You can save it as a wav file and make a new session and start over. For what you need to do you won't need 100 functions!

Ok, if you mean background noise, and its fairly constant, select a silent part (as in silent for the proper sound), make sure none of the proper sound is there (you can zoom in on a silent part of course) the bigger the sample the better generally, as long as no audio is present thats supposed to be in that clip. Copy that to the clipboard.

Select the whole file again, click on effect ---> filter ---> noise reduction. on the left had side select 'from clipboard' and on the right select an fft of say 13 or so, and play with the settings. You can select the demonstration sample sound by the slide bar above when you press play. It may be choppy because its a complex operation. Good suggested values is an fft of 13, the rest can stay normal.

This may be slow depending on your computer, but its well wort it! It can make a noisy clip crystal clear as long as you can get a clear sample. Its only a couple of megabytes to download.

There's lots of links and stuff about that. If Goldwave was good enough to prove Neil Armstrong said 'One small step for a man' then its good enough for normal use too!

Okay, I demuxed a part of audio from the .vob file I ripped, and uploaded it here:

http://www63.megaupload.com/files/4b86a9c3f7066f021a98d1763c8b01b5/sample.ac3

It's from anime Sailor Moon, it's Sailor Mars's transformation "Mars star power make-up" . I also have some other season of sailor moon, but on original japanese DVDs, and audio is 100 time better.

Anyway, please listen to the file and try fixing it somehow. I didn't encode the audio, I just demuxed...

As you can hear, it's very noised. It'd be awesome if anyone could clear out the audio. Gotta go now... bbl...~

EDIT: Btw, the WHOLE episode has noised audio. I mean, whole episodes. It's like the publishers of the DVDs encoded the whole audio in the noised audio (accidentally or purposely)...

So it's more of a case where the whole audio is noised, not just a single part of it....
What should I do? ://

Has anyone listened to the sample yet and/or trying clearing it out somehow? >_>;;

If there's no help to the audio, I'd like knowing that, please. :/

Listened but without solutions.
