i'm trying to rip the dvd in ifo mode using dvd decrypter. i know which pieces are corrupt and which to uncheck, but dvd decrypter can't even seem to read the disc.

using ripit4me i can rip the disc in file mode, but that's not really what i want.

are there any tricks to getting dvd decrypter to open the disc even?

If you first rip it (in File Mode) with RipIt4Me, you can then use ancient SmartRipper on the hard drive rip to do just about anything DVD Decrypter would do when ripping a DVD...

here's what i did:

use ripit4me to rip the main movie in file mode, back it up to disc (no compression) with dvd shrink, then re-rip it in ifo mode with dvd decrypter.

the reason? mainly just obsessive compulsive, but i like to keep all my backups as single-file vob's ripped in ifo mode with the chapter information, etc.

it makes everything a lot easier for my scripts and keeps everything nice.

I've never used AnyDVD myself, but it's supposed to be able to allow programs such as DVD Decrypter to process the disk.
