can you play the DV avi file?
does it have audio? (your log shows, Audio: none)

i use agk to encode DV source to xvid all the time
and have never seen that, but i use xp, not the vista POS. :/

from the faq:

5.12 What are limitations/features of AVI input mode?
- your OS has to be able to decode input AVI via Dshow (note sometimes decoder, for instance ffdshow, has problems with certain type of video, so you have to change it. See here for example problem: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=92047)
- no denoising is done for AVI mode except for DV sources
- no cropping is done for AVI mode apart from the one needed to keep AR (if you need it then enable it via hidden options)
- DV sources are detected via "dv" string in 4cc and appropriate AR resizing is performed (AR is 1.095 or 0.909). Original AR option won't work for such sources.
- only DV type 2 files are supported
- Analysis step is only performed for DV source (for deinterlacing)
- BFF is assumed for DV sources
- input audio can be PCM(always encoded)/MPA(kept/encoded)/MP3(always kept)/AC3(encoded/kept)/DTS(encoded/kept)
- if your DV source is 16:9 then you need to enable this AR in hidden options as AutoGK can't detect that.
- mp3 re-encoding is not possible due to LAME crashing on most mp3 sources
- sometimes LAME has issues with 11KHz PCM input audio, so it might need to be processed manually.

I noticed that too, but that DV RAW file works fine without any special codec, normal Windows Media Player 11 is able to play Audio/Video :)

i use agk to encode DV source to xvid all the time

Please explain the process...

Also, the problem is with Windows XP too... !!!

i dont think theres anything you can do wrong in AGK.
the process is as straight forward as it could be. select input/output
file and target filesize.

what id do is dl Gspot and load your file and post a pic of that.
maybe someone can see whats wrong with it.

the faq says:
- only DV type 2 files are supported
(as i posted above already)

GSpot says your file is DV type 1 !
i guess that is why it doesnt work.

What would be work around ?? I mean as is there any problem in capturing the DV Tape or whether My Hardware (the CAM) doesnt support DV Type 2 ??

As I remember I have done it earleir with same CAM captured Tape !!!

@Choto Cheeta

Hi!

I don't know how significant this may or may not be (or, if GSpot has a bug in this regard) but, in your GSpot screen capture, the "Container" section indicates that your video is comprised of four (joined) parts, the last three of which each contain -0- bytes.

It also indicates the size as 3.47Gb, not the 13Gb you've stated...

Sorry for the miscomunications... As i was trying a lot to fix that problem so, I have deleted that earlier RAW file and it is a new file for which is partially captured for Testing purpose...

!!!

I have captured using Ulead, now I would Try Pinnacle too !!! to see if that helps :(

I haven't used it myself, but DVdate (free), gets good reviews for converting type 1 to type 2. It's at:

I had the same problem with Choto Cheeta.

When I captured with Nero it gave to me an option to choose type1 or type2. Check your capture software options.

Thanks for the information above!
