Hi
I've recently been attempting to convert an avi file (ripped from a dvd) to VidCD (mpeg) format. Unfortunately it leaves the audio badly out of sink. Anyone know of way to fix this problems or perhaps a piece of software that would do the trick? Thanks.

Hi!Anyone know of way to fix this problemsSure - make the VCD from your ORIGINAL DVD.
1) There's no reason to perform the intermediate step of creating an .AVI
2) Making the VCD from the DVD will yield a higher quality image

Thanks for advice but I should really have elaborated more clearly the exact nature of my problem. What I'm trying to do you see is create a movie comprising of my top 100 scenes from my favourite tv show. I've had such a hassle trying to put it together though. I started by using a combination of iSofter dvd ripper and video redo plus. I used the former to rip certain segments and the latter to trim it down to the part which I actually want. It was all going fine until I reached a disc where iSofter kept crashing during the middle of the ripping process and left the below message-
Video unit buffer full
Check rate ctrl padd min and start
Or incease Audio Bitrate
Or decrease Video Bitrate
I tried another ripper (So think) which worked but it only converts to avi and VideoRedo infuriatingly does not recognise avi only mpeg. Hence the reason why I was trying to use WinMPG application. Of course as you know I've had problems with this as well.
So I'm at a real stumbling block. If anyone could give me any tips (in terms of software or anything else) on the easiest and most straightforward way of getting this movie made I would be extremely grateful. I do get the feeling I've made things a little over-complicated for myself. Also if anyone at all has trouble understanding post please do ask and I'll try to make myself a little clearer. Anything to get this sorted out!
Please help.
