DVD Splitting

I have a DVD9 disc, however, I am having problems splitting the 8-gig DVD. I read the DVD9 splitting article on doom9: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ifoedit-2dvdrs.htm

The problem, however, is that the DVD is not a single movie but multiple episodes. Attached is an image listing the vob files.

VTS_06, VTS_07, VTS_08, VTS_09, VTS_10 each contain a different episode respectively. Thus I am only able if any to split the middle of an episode.

Is there anything I'm missing?

Logic would dictate that, if the five episodes are of equal size (and occupy most of a DL DVD), one episode would have to be split when placing those same five episodes onto two SL DVDs (5 divided by 2 equals 2 1/2)...

Yes I thought as much, but the problem now becomes if I open the VIDEO_TS.IFO I get all files but I do not get the option to split the DVD, furthermore if I open the starting point of the episodes VTS_06_0.IFO only the chapters from that episode are listed for splitting.

If I split from VTS_08_0.IFO the middle of the episodes I get VTS_08 information on both the first and second discs as expected. Although I'm not sure if I'm wrong but will the second disk even function properly considering its going to be beginning at 8-10 ?

For what is, in my opinion, the simplest way to split a DVD, use the ORIGINAL DVDFab (NOT to be confused with the myriad similarly named programs from "Fengtao's" site).
