Removing dummy files

is there any way to remove these dummy files or do they have to be there?

FixVTS should do what you want...

There are no dummy files...only dummy PGCs
Dummy PGCs are PGCs with no A/V content, its precommands are used to navigate.
You can remove dummy PGCs with Pgcedit (if it is the last PGC in its domain) but be sure there are no references to this PGC

FixVTS does (must) not remove dummy PGCs....
