Mkv To Hd Dvd---

any techniques for converting/authoring a .mkv file to HD DVD? the only way i am able to do this currently is to or at least the only way i know how is to..

convert .mkv to mpeg using tmpgenc.
then take the mpeg file and author a HD DVD using ulead moviefactory 6.0. problem is that obviously moviefactory has to reencode the mpeg file to .evo. so is there a way to go straight mkv to hddvd with one endoing step vs. two, like the two i just mentioned?

i have some mkv files and now i want to watch on my HD-A2.
been reading about x264 encoder but its super slow even on my core 2 duo @3.0 with 3 gigs of ram.
