First let me say that I've read all the "Vista" threads I could find here on Doom9 in the DVD Rebuilder section and could not find anything that related to my problem. I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate.

Now here's the error I get whenever I try to run Rebuilder.

I've tried the Run as Admin option on Rebuilder.exe and made sure MSCOMCTL was registered. I even uninstalled and completely removed Rebuilder from my Program Files (x86) folder then did a fresh install--none of this helped--I still get the same error.

Any clues?

P.S. AnyDVD, DVD Shrink, ImBurn, MenuShrink, Nero, PgcEdit, and VobBlanker all run fine. All are latest versions.

No clue. Nothing changed in the basic compile/run/executable format....

Anyone else installed the latest version under Vista?

DVD Rebuilder works fine on the 32bit version of vista.
I do not have vista 64, So I cannot help you there.

I was only evaluating Vista 64 so I've decided to go back to XP for the time being. Vista 32 runs almost all XP software. Can't say the same for the former.

MS's lockdown on security in V64 has really created quite a few issues. I'm going to wait out till SP1 before considering a migration.

Yes, I installed and tested it using Vista 64 Ultimate, no problems.

That was a clean install (+ all crititcal updates) of V64 so I'm not sure why Rebuilder wouldn't run without error. It's certainly not a hardware issue of any kind because I'm running Rebuilder under XP as I type this--same DVD compilation too. Rebuilder's Matrix Editor also erred out.

This among several other issues (MySQL, Oracle, DB2, AquaMark3, Intel TAT, etc.) make me steer clear of V64 at the moment.
