Will the twindisc hd-dvd movies like Freedom Project be any different to decrypt or play with Powerdvd? Twindisc is hd-dvd and dvd on the same side.

You mean HD-DVD on one side and DVD on the other? If so, I see no reason they'd be different.

Not Combo disc, Freedom Project is a Twindisc. Hd-dvd and dvd on the same side. It's new and coming out next week. I ordered it on Amazon.

HyperHacker:

The idea is they put one layer of HD DVD and two layers of DVD on one side, and Blu-ray on the other side.

Neat! So they're actually going to come out with this finally? That'd be really sweet. As for the question, a DVD drive on a PC will only "see" the two DVD layers, so, yea, it'll be like ripping a normal disc.

Twindisc is available since the beginning of HD DVD format.
The first twindisc was launched last year, April 2006, in Japan.
There is lot of twindisc in Japan made only by one company MemoryTech ( father of HD DVD disc structure, not HD DVD format, aka AOD).

I think you want to say that other companies (out of Japan) will do twindisc....

All HD DVD player can play Twindisc format, but there is some problem (see on doc. information with HD DVD player like old HD XA1,...)

Other news:
- BD9 work fine on all BD player.
- Some company will launch BD9 and HDDVD9 on same disc (one by side)....

I got Freedom Project and tried to rip it with Anydvd hd latest version and no luck. Guess Twindiscs don't work with AnydvdHD. Gives me status error msg below.
Media is a HD DVD.
Booktype: hd-dvd (version 3), Layers: 1
Total size: 3820192 sectors (7461 MBytes)
Video HD DVD label: FREEDOM_VOL1
Media is AACS protected!
ERROR processing HD DVD disc!

Update, when I put the hd-dvd in a standard dvd drive, I could rip the iso with dvddecrypter. This is the sd version of Freedom Project.
