hi,

i know i should've searched more, as i'm sure that it had already been mentioned, but i just couldn't find it.

i need a simple tool to cut & join mp3 files without recoding. as right now i'm working on one movie with 192 kbps CBR audio, i don't even need VBR, or merging different qualities, just the most basic stuff.

i've read that BeSplit can do the cutting, but how about joining? or is it ok to use TotalCommander's combine file? i've found some pieces of software using google, but i just don't trust them.

thank you,
robotik

something's wrong, it appearantly changes the sample rate, so i can't append the avi file with the edited audio in Nandub

the error message is:
Cannot append video segment: the audio streams have different sampling rates (24000.00000 vs. 38.28125)

the funny thing is that the sampling rate is 44100.00000 in both files, so i don't understand. Nandub doesn't complain about segments with intact audio, thoug.

[EDIT]
it wasn't the problem of MP3 DirectCut, i tried to do it with BeSplit, and the same error message popped up. i guess the original audio stream had some false properties that were fixed in the process, and this way the result didn't match the original.

anyway, i demuxed all the audio, joined it (with BeSplit) and then muxed it back to the movie, this way there was no problem, and the movie plays flawlessly both on the computer and a standalone player. there is a little blip where the audio files were joined, but almost inaudiable.

thanks again

MP3 Cutter V4 is a brilliant little freeware program that should do this job easily too.

Check it out at http://mp3cutter.cjb.net/

It is the best utility of its type that I have found.
