VM Command & DVD Subtitle

Turn subtitle on or off by default without using VM Command, is it possible?

I own a HongKong DVD called 'The Twins Effect', I'm going to make DVD5 backup of that DVD.

When I analyze that DVD, I didn't saw any VM Command that change Subpicture to Cantonese(Chinese) but everytime I play it, Cantonese - Subpicture 0 is selected by default.

I want subpicture is turn off by default? How can I do that?

I think IfoEdit can be used to edit a value but I don't understand the meaning of that value(-2147417600 Hex:80010200):confused:
Can anyone explain in details?

Me neither, I don't understand that cryptic value. Use PgcEdit to understand or edit it (with the PGC editor)! Anyway, you will not be able to hide the default subpics by editing its status value.

I suppose that your DVD shows the subtitle because:
1) all subpics in stream 0 are forced. (Use DVDSubEdit to verify and/or change that.) Or,
2) your player selects automatically the subpic. (Verify its subtitle language setting, or try with another player.)

Actually IfoEdit explains the value in the 4 lines following. The value 0x80010200 means:
80 - this track is defined
01 - use stream 1 for widescreen
02 - use stream 2 for letterbox
00 - use stream 0 for pan/scan
