I'm doing a rip of Ghost in the Shell... the movie is incredibly easy to compress as it is an anime so I was able to put the resolution of the movie at 704*384 or something like that...

but I could of gone higher as my video ratio was still at 70 % but that would have meant streching the image and in that case GKnot puts a big fat red box to warn me... is it so dangerous to strech the image ? :p

I know 704*384 is already enough but it's just to know....

In my opinion stretching during encoding is worse than stretching during playback. Because unless you can encode it into full-screen resolution it's going to get resized twice. If you encode at original resolution you're only resizing it once. I'd just keep it at 704x...

I've got the same movie, it's great to encode cuz it's so short and easy. I've got bitrate turned up to 1300 (even though GKnot calculates 1050 or something) and it still fits on 1 CD :) (using 128 kb/s ABR MP3)
