Anime DVD Question

I was looking here http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/ on some dvds and a couple of anime's have in the notes under the R2 Pal version saying " This release is an NTSC>PAL conversion resulting in ghosting and minor artefacting. " or "
This is a NTSC to PAL conversion so ghosting is visible. "

Two that i found was FF7 Advent Children and Appleseed (2004), Now how noticable is this ?? any one have and screens comparing the two where you can see this problem ??

Not all the animes listed say this, infact meny dont i only found 3, is this a common problem with anime dvds or is it a problem on certain titles.

Im glad i was directed to that site and if what they say is true im glad i have'nt bought FF7AC yet and if/when i do i'll get the R1 version.

At least for the german subtitled (R2, PAL) market i think it is quite common. How bad it looks depends on the company and also on the source material they receive, i guess.
Without going to verify with my shelf, i feel the problem is mostly with TV series and OVAs - movies, especially more expensive production seldom have blending problems, or not so bad ones - i guess since the license takers get access to progressive film (or digital 24fps) material and not only some NTSC stuff.

I don't own FF7 AC or Appleseed, so i can't post pictures (except you don't know what blending looks in general and are interested in generic examples form other sources..)

Appleseed and Advent Children are hardly anime to be honest (at least from an encoding standpoint!)

I have a pretty good quality H.264 rip of Appleseed I made a while back so if the OP can post a specific frame and note where it is, I can post my image for comparison.

I dont have the films in question s i cant post any samples. Basicly that comparision site noted that the R2 PAL version where NTSC 2 PAL conversions and that they had those problems stated.
