I'm trying to blank segments of "Ghost Rider" using DVD-RB v1.26.0 but it keeps crashing when I click on a segment. It doesn't matter which segment I click to view they all crash DVD-RB. Attached below is a screenshot of the error. Let me know what information that you need. FYI, this is the first time the error has ever occured.

What did you use to rip the disc? Sounds like a bad rip, with still encrypted files making the segment viewer crash perhaps. Can you view the ripped Vobs with any type of media player?

I ripped with RipIt4Me v1.7.1.0 in "Wizard Mode". The ouput was then run through PgcEdit v8.2.1 to "Delete Uncalled PGCs" and FixVTS v1.603. If the rip is questionable I can retry with AnyDVD. I've viewed parts of the DVD with Media Player Classic and had no problems.

I enabled AnyDVD v6.1.6.1 and tried DVD-RB directly from the disc. I still get the same crash when trying to view segments in the video segment viewer.

Sorry for the triple post but here is an update. I went ahead and tried "Movie and Menu" only with DVD-RB but I get this error. I can only assume that it is related.

No problem here.

RB 1.26.0
RI4M 1.7.1.0

@rack04 The last error you describe is (as I recall) fixed by doing this: Open DVD RB -> Options -> AVS Options -> tick ConvertToYUY2(). Meaning: Procoder needs YUY2 input.

I think Jdobbs added ConvertToYUY2() as default for Procoder2 and CCE.

Yes. It is done automatically.

The last error you listed looks like the output file or directory is locked. You may want to reboot.

I rebooted as the problem still exists. Any idea what I'm doing to cause this crash in the video segment viewer?

Does the error in post 5 happen when you run Procoder manually (i.e. not via an AVISynth script under Rebuilder)? If so, the answer is probably a reinstallation of Procoder2.

Also, try clearing out your D2VAVS folder and give it another go.

Tried HCenc and the same crash happened during encoding. Pretty sure the problem is with the rip but I can't figure it out.

Well I tried it again with a different DVD and it still crashed when I select a segment using the video segment viewer. From the changelog I don't see any changes to this viewer for quite some time. If it's not DVD-RB and the source what could be the problem? I tried a reinstall of AviSythin 2.5.6a to see that solves the problem.

Update:
Alright something really strange is happening with Avisynth. I unistalled Avisynth 2.5.6a and installed the version that came with DVD-RB. When I tried to play an avs file that was generated by DVD-RB in Media Player Classic it hangs and stays at 99% usage. I'm lost and don't know what could have caused this.

It has been said many a time, not to use any version that is not provided with DVDRB. I'd uninstall everything and reinstall and try again. Failing that, a system restore might be in order.

With some help I was finally able to fix the problem. The problem was a conflict with one or more plugins in the avisynth plugin folder. I removed all plugins from this folder and the DVD-RB video segment viewed functioned as normal and the encoding proceeded without crashing. Thanks for you patience.
