Your Favorite Software For Ripping XviD clips From Large Files

I'm looking to take full length clips (avi/wmv/mpg; etc) and cut them down and edit them into nicely compressed XviD AVI clips.

Note: I'm not ripping from DVD. Just from already ripped files that re 700mb-1400mb in size.

Can anyone recommend their favorite program for doing this?

Your rips' sizes are just fine. Recompressing will just harm the quality.

if you just want to cut out a scene, then do a direct stream copy in vdub.
if you want to re-encode the file to make it smaler, then use AGK, but as Jimerb said, it'll hurt the quality.
