Hey Y'All!!

Hope you guys can help me with my problem as Xmpeg doesn't run faster than 10 fps on my athlon xp 1800+, which I don't suppose to be normal, as there has been a test on tomshardware.de saying that more than 30 fps ought to be possible!!

I'm using a 640x480 resolution and have already tried several idcts and filters included in xmpeg 4.2a, but i never reached more than those 10 fps :(

Furthermore, I use the rhadium codec and divx 4.12

Now it's your turn, maybe someone knows how to solve this problem...

Thx!

just to let you i'm running on a .14 t-bird@1.6 and i get around 9.3fps so i think you are about right. i'm not sure about toms settings but i'm doing 2pass divx4.12 and radium mp3 codec

this may seem like a silly question...

are you ripping straight off the dvd, or did you rip it to the hard drive first?

I had a problem with flask( a long time ago) running slowly, then I fixed my driver issue (it was the sound card, I think) and speed went to over 17fps

that was on a p3-750(mobile) with 128mb ram.

here's an idea though, flask is a prety unstable application all by itself, don't need bad drivers to crash this program, just try gordian knot, do at least one rip with it, then if you are unimpressed with it, go back to flask.
