ac3 sound problem [Archive]

Hello!
I´m new at this and would be glad if anyone could help me.
I´m having problems getting the sound in 5.1 to work. I´ve used virtualdub to compile the video och audiofile (hope i did it right)
But the sound when I´m playing the movie is just i stereo, not in 5.1. Do I need any codecs, or another player?
I´ve tried with powerdivx and mediaplayer.
I have soundblaster 5.1.

Doom9 has a ton of guides right here on this site to walk you through this man. All you have to do is a little leg work on your own and BAM Doom9 hooks you up in the audio section:D

EDIT- After you do some work on your own and if you still have problems then come back here and post. We'll try to help out.

Set the output device to 'Default WaveOut Device' in PowerDivX, should help you

I fixed it, what i needed was to run a .reg file.
(use-waveout-not-dsound.reg)
