Help creating a Dual layer break.

HI,
I need alittle help in my dual layer created dvd files.

Firstly ill give complete scenario:

I created a Video_ts folder and ISO image with DVD workshop 2.2. It was a full 7.9 Gb file.


I then used Image burn to burn the iso to a dual layer disc.
It burned fine, but warned me before the burn this message:
It said,
>>Optimal L1 data zone start LBA : non found!(vts_01)
Image was not mastered correctly for burning onto dual layer (otp track path) disc.
None of the cells meet the "dvd-video specification" criteria for apotential layer break position.<<<


i continued anywys and it plays fine on my home set top player, with no pause from layer 0 to layer1, which as i understand might cause problems with some players.

I need to make these dvds compatible as much as possible as i sell them.

can someone help me with this and give me a walkthrough on what to do to correct this ? i can make any screen capture of my ifo files or anythign else to show you.

You'll need to split a cell at the appropriate place. VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) or DVD Remake Pro (http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/index.php) can help with this.

I am VERY surprised the disk played.

Hi!

Have you tried using IMGBurn in "Build" mode to burn the VIDEO_TS folder, rather than the ISO image file?

I agree with setarip. You should produce the DVD files on disc, not directly the ISO. Imgburn will have more possibilities for a good position of the layer break.
Also, it is better to leave some free space on the DL-DVD. See why here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=988706#post988706).

OK...
well.. i made the iso and video ts folder with DVD workshop 2.2. And i assume that since it says it supports 8.5 gig dual layer discs, that when it creates the larger dvd files, it MUST put in its own version of a layer break. I cant imagien that the program would "support" or "create" 8.5 gig dual layer dvds and NOT do something with a layer break.
Perhaps thats why it did play on my computer and one customers computer.

Obviously Imgburn says that there is not a proper layer break when i burn the iso.

i will look at the 2 programs mentioned as well as burn the ts folder versus the iso with imgburn.

But how would i tell IFthere is one already ? can i post what the IFO file says on here and someone can tell if its correct or not ?

These dvds are peoples wedding dvds, and obviously they got to work properly..LOL...

You can't post the IFOs, but you could perhaps post a snapshot of the cell table of the title where the LB occurs from PgcEdit. But, this will show only a non-seamless cell, perhaps. The LB has to be on a cell and ECC boundary and have more data on L0 than L1. So, in reality, you need to know the absolute LBA of each cell in order to make progress.

The sad truth is that very few programs are really able to do good ISOs for DL discs, especially if they are to be burnt on DVD-Rs.
Imgburn is one of the rare programs that you can trust.
