mp3 @ 192 recognized @128 : slow playback

I have a strange problem with a Mp3 file. This is a 192 kbit encoded mp3. I send it via mail, and i delete it from my hard disk. From another PC i downloaded it, but now all players play it slowly. It was encoded @ 192 but all players recognize it as 128. So all music is distorted. How can i solve?

Maybe your mailer broke it, changing it to 7-bit? Or some other mail-reader-related corruption. That kind of thing is extremely rare with modern mail software and servers, but it still happens with the wrong combination. Try another one just to test (but don't delete it this time).

Likely only solution: Re-encode from the source or use file-recovery software.
